One of the most important things for participants, families and providers to understand about NDIS funding is that having money available in a budget does not automatically mean it can be spent on anything within that category.


What a Support Needs to Meet Before It Can Be Claimed


A support generally needs to:

  • ✅ Relate to the participant’s disability support needs

  • ✅ Be an NDIS support

  • ✅ Be consistent with the participant’s plan and funding

  • ✅ Represent value for money

  • ✅ Complement, rather than replace, supports that should ordinarily be provided by other systems or the broader community
